Global Spread of H5N1 Avian Influenza: A Persisting Health Concern

Since then, the virus has traversed Europe, first detected in the autumn of 2020, and subsequently spreading to Africa and Asia.
Wild aquatic birds serve as natural, asymptomatic carriers of influenza A viruses, which can infect other species through close contact with infected feces or contaminated materials, or through consumption of infected birds.
