The UJ-22 Airborne, a jet-powered drone produced by the Ukrainian firm Ukrjet, represents one element of this expanding arsenal. The platform has a stated range of up to 800 kilometers and a payload capacity of approximately 50 kilograms.
The UJ-22 is equipped with satellite navigation and designed to fly at low altitudes, a tactic intended to evade radar detection. The Omsk strike, however, relied on a more complex mix of aircraft, according to the information available.
Adapting Commercial Technology for Military Use
The strike highlights Ukraine’s ability to adapt commercial drone technology for military purposes.
