GREENVILLE, S.C. — Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County has named five new members to its board of directors for fiscal year 2027, bringing backgrounds in banking, law, local government, and education to guide the nonprofit’s work across Greenville and Laurens Counties. Ken Cummings, Ken Gibson, Glenda Morrison-Fair, John Natale, and Sima Patel will join the board as it sets strategic direction for the organization, which runs home construction, repair, weatherization, and homebuyer education programs in South Carolina’s Upstate region.
“Each of these leaders brings a depth of expertise and a genuine commitment to our mission,” said LaTonya Phillips, president and CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County. “Their guidance will help us reach even more families across our community with the opportunity and stability that comes from a safe, affordable place to call home.” Cummings is a senior vice president at Southern First with more than 25 years of experience in retail and commercial banking.
He served on Simpsonville’s City Council from 2015 to 2023 and currently serves on the Greenville Chamber of Commerce Board of Advisors and Finance Committee, the United Way of Greenville African American Leadership Giving Board and Campaign Cabinet, and the Bon Secours Mercy Health board of directors, where he is treasurer. Natale, senior vice president of commercial banking at First Horizon Bank, brings 30 years of experience in finance, commercial banking, and program management. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Belmont Abbey College.
Gibson represents District 3 on Greenville City Council. A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point who served in the U.S. Army before earning his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center, he now operates his own law practice in Greenville.
He previously served on the City of Greenville Public Safety Citizen Review Board and the Greenville County Board of Zoning Appeals. Morrison-Fair has represented Area 23 on the Greenville County Schools board since 2008 and is a former chair of the Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County board of directors. She spent 10 years on the South Carolina School Boards Association board of directors and began her career as a research mathematician before moving into information technology and, later, the classroom as a computer science and geometry teacher.

She holds a J.D. from American University Washington College of Law and previously served as board president of United Ministries. The incoming members join a board of community and business leaders who help guide the organization’s efforts to provide affordable homeownership opportunities in the Upstate region of South Carolina.
