SEATTLE, September 18 — The Boeing Co. has been handed a $13,400,000,000 ceiling modification to an existing contract, a change that lifts the total value of the deal to $19,100,000,000 from $5,700,000,000 and folds in Foreign Military Sales work for Japan and Israel. The Pentagon announced the modification, numbered P00008, against contract FA8609-19-D-0007. The added scope is FMS, and the announcement states the arrangement will also take in future country partners beyond the two named.
Under the hood, a ceiling modification is not a cash transfer. It is a permission slip — a raised limit on what the contract may eventually be worth.
No funds are being obligated at the time of award, which is the detail that matters for anyone tracking when money genuinely moves. The technical reality is that the Pentagon has expanded the envelope, not written a cheque. Work will be performed in Seattle, Washington, where Boeing is headquartered, and is expected to be completed by April 28, 2035.
That is a long runway, and it tells you this is a sustainment and support arrangement rather than a one-off purchase. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity.
The award was among a series of defense contract announcements issued by the Department of Defense. As ever, the headline figure is the ceiling, not the spend.

Blue Halo LLC of Huntsville, Alabama, received a $99,832,117 ceiling indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for the Leveraged Orbital Battlespace Optimization program, covering research and development to advance scientific knowledge and state-of-the-art technology supporting space systems.
